Obituary for Vincent Edward Burget
SFC Vincent Edward Burget, 53, born in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 13, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas.

SFC Vincent Burget proudly served his country in the United States Army for 23 years and 11 months as a Construction Engineer. His dedication, discipline, and strong work ethic reflected the deep sense of duty he carried throughout his life. He served honorably and with pride, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and service.

Vincent was a man who could never sit still. He was always active, always moving, always working on something. Whether it was a project, an adventure, or simply finding something to tinker with, he lived life with energy and purpose.

He found great joy in the simple but meaningful moments — playing cards and board games with his family, camping with his beloved wife and their dogs, and enjoying spirited games of Scrabble with his “tall bud.” These moments were where his laughter, competitive spirit, and love shone brightest.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Burget; his father, John Burget; his sister, Patricia “Patty” Sullivan; and his brothers, Arthur “Brian” Burget and Andrew “Bub” Burget.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Raychal Ann Burget; his two beautiful daughters, Korie Lynn Burget and Rayvin Kai Burget; his sister, Karen Sullivan Reed; and his brother, Jerry “Burf” Sullivan. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was steady and unwavering.

A service with full military honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston followed by a Celebration of Life gathering, date and time to be determined.

Vincent will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, restless energy, and the deep love he carried for his family. His presence was powerful, his spirit determined, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Guestbook

  1. Rest in peace cousin Vincent. You always had your family in New York. That was very proud of you. Aunt Hazel, my mother always talked about you and couldn’t wait to send out the care packages. It made her feel like she was connected to you. God bless you and your family at this very difficult time. You will be missed and thought of forever. Thank you for serving our country and thank you for being you.

    • Lisa Spina, Vince was a great friend of mine in elementary school! I didn’t know he was related on your mom’s side of the family. Sorry for you and the rest of his family’s loss.

  2. Raychel, Korie and Rayvin, my heart just breaks for you. I know how much Vince loved you all and was so proud of his girls. He will live on in our memories and our hearts. Love you all! Aunt Cindy

  3. To all of his family and friends; may your many wonderful memories bring you peace and comfort.

    RIP Vince.
You will be missed by so many.

    Carol Spingarn

  4. Vincent, you were a great friend in Elementary school. I regret that we lost touch when I moved away in middle school. I will always remember the great times we had riding our bikes and playing in the snow. God Bless,
    David Ebersole
