May Bill rest in peace and may his family find comfort. I too worked with Bill as Texas Highway Patrolmen in Richmond, Texas. We spent countless hours together and I have a lifetime of memories from him. We laughed and we cried and I can honestly say that Bill was a good man who loved his family. Thank you, Bill Strickland, for watching over me while we worked and now may God watch over you in heaven. Rest in peace, my friend.

I along with Bob Mayne and Herb Jones worked with wild Bill in Richmond. We were partners for a while. We had some “Lively” times. He was old school and he taught me a lot of the old ways. He did not cotton much to modern technology as it arrived to DPS. He will be sorely missed as he was the old Highway Patrol. Rest in peace Bill. Your friend Robin
Our condolences go out to all of William’s family, including his first two daughters who were inadvertently left out of this obituary.
Dottie and girls, we just now learned of “Butch’s”, Bill’s passing. We, (Johnny and Beverly King) of Rochelle, Tx., worked for Butch’s, Dad here in McCulloch Cnty. for many years, up until his death in 1992. If you remember us? Ran into Nicole at the Doctors Clinic in Brady back in Nov. Didn’t know her, was just a teenager last time we saw her. But she sure remembered us. She told us Butch had cancer and wasn’t doing very good. So sorry for yall’s loss. May you find peace in knowing he is no longer in pain and he lives on in your heart and memories, and of course in your children and grandchildren. God Bless you all. With Deepest Sympathy, Johnny & Beverly King

William was such a wonderful man and was blessed to have gone to school with him in Brady Tx. We were good friends and always enjoyed the ride he would give us in him convertible. He will be missed by his friends and family. A special thanks to Cindy Strickland for letting me know about the passing of her Dad. I will pass it on to the other people in Brady that loved him.
