William "Bill" Patterson Payne

William Patterson (Bill) Payne died Tuesday September 30th in New Braunfels, TX at the age of 82 years. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, May 27, 1932. Preceded in death by step-father, Malcolm James; mother, Mildred James; son, James Kidd Payne. Survived by wife, Scott Kidd Payne; daughters, Anne Lowry and Leslie Kelso; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A graduate of Beaumont High School and Texas A&M, Mr. Payne served In the United States Navy during the Korean War. He served as a Scout Master in the Boy Scouts of America and as a deacon and elder in the Presbyterian Church. His professional career spanned 33 years as a Petroleum Engineer with Sun Oil Company, Houston Oil & Minerals, and engineering consulting firms. A memorial service will be held at New Braunfels Presbyterian Church at 373 Howard Street on October 3rd. Those wishing to do so, may contribute to New Braunfels Presbyterian Church or the charity of their choice.

  1. Condolences and prayers from The Class of 1960. Bill was a Classmate and we will miss seeing him at Reunions, but he will not be forgotten.
