Born in: Shreveport, Louisiana
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Zachery “Zach” Dillon Moss. Though his time with us was far too short, the joy, laughter, and love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Zach, born in Shreveport, Louisiana, was a devoted son, beloved brother, cherished uncle, cousin, and loyal friend. To know Zach was to know laughter. He had a remarkable ability to bring light into any situation, often cracking a joke at exactly the moment no one expected it, but when everyone needed it. Even during difficult times, he could find a way to make people smile. His sense of humor, quick wit, and playful spirit made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.
Zach was deeply loved by his family and friends. Since his passing, countless friends have shared stories of his kindness, humor, and friendship, all echoing the same sentiment: he will be missed beyond words.
He had a special love for dogs and never passed up an opportunity to spend time with them. He adored his nieces and nephews and never minded them treating him like a jungle gym. He was also an avid sports fan who could surprise anyone with the depth of his sports knowledge and endless collection of facts and statistics. He, along with his siblings, proudly cheered for the New Orleans Saints, LSU Tigers, and San Antonio Spurs. Their shared devotion to these teams brought them together, fostering a lifelong connection that endured through the joys and challenges of life.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Darrell “Scott” Moss and Catherine Elaine Moss, and maternal grandparents Nora Lynn McKethan and Richard McKethan. He is survived by his three brothers and sister: Richard Christopher Paul Chevalier and his wife Andrea, James Ian Moss, Justin Moss and his wife Rachael, and Kellie Moss. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Suzanne Knighten and William Knighten, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who considered him family.
While we struggle to understand why his life ended so soon, we are grateful for the years we had with him and for the love and laughter he brought into our lives. His presence made ordinary moments brighter, and his absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
Though he is gone from our sight, he will forever remain in our hearts. We will remember his laughter, his kindness, his love for family, and the joy he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Forever loved. Forever missed.
