Carol Sue Dees

Carol Sue Dees, 81, former resident of Corinth MS, passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. Our mom was born February 21st 1941 in Hammond Indiana. She is the daughter of the late Clarence Schutz and Helen Pawloski. Working in the hospitality industry as a restaurant waitress and hostess was something she reflected on fondly and often. The matriarch of our family, mom’s character was very strong, a personality as big as all outdoors. Her generosity toward her family and friends was equally as large. A lover of animals, stray cats and dogs were always welcome in our home. Mom could out whistle most anyone and when she stepped outside making her iconic whistle, kids and animals knew it was time to come inside. She loved flowers, live, dried or paper. Mom was a wonderful teller of jokes, customers requested to sit in her section of the restaurant just to be able to visit and laugh with her if only for a short while. A music lover of all kinds from country and western to Michael Jackson and don’t forget Tom Jones and Elvis. Mom’s dearest and longest friends are her friends since grade school. Left to cherish her memories include two daughters, Valerie Corbello (Keith) of Canyon Lake, TX, Felicia Emerson (Toby) of Corinth MS; granddaughter Olivia Corbello of Austin TX; grandson Austin Emerson (Kaitlyn) of Rienzi MS; Beloved cousin (Cuz) and friend Freddy Laver of Myrtle Beach SC. We want to acknowledge and thank MRHC hospice of Corinth, MS and Hope Hospice of New Braunfels TX for their impeccable care and kindness to our mother. A true one-of-a-kind… What a privilege to call this colorful and unique lady, MOM. A Private memorial for family will be held at a later date
