On Saturday, August 6, 2022, Ernesto Pelaez Jr., (known as Ernie to family and friends), loving husband and father of two children, and grandfather of Noah Cohn, passed away at age 60. Ernesto Pelaez Jr. was born on December 27, 1961 in San Francisco, California to Ernesto and Teresa Pelaez. He was the youngest of five siblings. They later moved to the Bay Area where Ernie attended school and graduated from high school. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He met the love of his life, Mirtha Barrantes, at White Road Baptist Church and they married at the end of 1985. God blessed them with a handsome son, Daniel, in 1990 and in 1995, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Rebecca. After living in Los Banos for over 10 years, the family moved to New Braunfels, Texas. Ernie was known for his sense of humor and being the life of the party. He brought joy into every room he walked into. He was always ready to greet people at church with a smile. He was also known for his strong faith and being an encourager. He served God faithfully and took several missionary trips, which he truly enjoyed. Some of his favorite pastimes were walking through the beautiful city of New Braunfels, spending time with family, and eating good food. Ernie was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto, mother, Teresa, sister, Lorena Meredith, and sister, Elizabeth Kimball. He is survived by his loving wife, Mirtha, son Daniel ,daughter Rebecca, son in law Wesley, grandson Noah, brother Gary, sister Griselda, brother-in-law, Luis, sister-in-law Sonia and several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a very large and extended family. He leaves us with joyful memories, a legacy of strong family commitment, and a true love of Yeshua that will be passed on for generations.
