Dr. Corry was the town dentist in Rayville for several decades. Gladys had two older sisters, both deceased, Barbara Nan Enos of Duncan, OK, and Eleanor Larson of Golden, CO. Gladys grew up in Rayville graduating from Rayville High School in the middle of WWII, and finishing her degree in education from Northeast Louisiana University. She taught kindergarten at the First Baptist Church in Rayville for several years and later as an elementary school teacher in Rayville. She was introduced to her soon-to-be husband, Marvin L. Beaver, on a blind date orchestrated by close friends. Marvin and Gladys married in the summer of 1955 and had three children, Mary, John, and Jim. Gladys and Marvin had many wonderful years raising their children. Marvin passed in 1970. Mary passed in the summer of 2008 having one son, Stephen Barr. There she met and married a retired widower pastor, Robert L Price. Gladys and “Bob” faithfully served in AZ for two decades. Bob passed in 2009. Gladys leaves a rich posterity and heritage to her family. Most notable is the clear and simple fact that Gladys loved people, from a Godly perspective, providing a remarkable example to those who knew her well. She had an ability and a strong desire for people she came in contact with to know Jesus Christ and mature in their Christian faith. Instead of flowers, donations can be sent to Rio Vista Center. Rio Vista is an Arizona Baptist Children’s Services ministry where Gladys served and was dear to her heart. Stories of Glady’s life and her years of faithful service in Christian ministry will be remembered in a memorial service held on January 21st , 2023 at 11:00 am in Canyon Lake, TX. Her son, Jim, will be officiating. This service will be live-streamed on the Cowboys for Jesus FB page. Cowboys for Jesus Church, 8400 FM 32 Fischer, TX 78623.
