Jesse Navarro

jesse navarro
Jesse Navarro, 71, of New Braunfels, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at his home after a brief battle with cancer. Born on August 29, 1951, in Seguin, he was the son of the late Jesse Navarro and Theodora Gomez Ybarra. Jesse spent his childhood living both in Galveston as well as in Seguin. Jesse chose to serve his country with the United States Army from 1969 to 1972 and trained as a diesel engine mechanic. Once he was honorably discharged, Jesse attended St. Phillips College in San Antonio and eventually opened his own automotive repair shop and towing service in New Braunfels, Navarro’s Truck and Auto Repair. After being in operation for 30 years, Jesse decided to change careers and spent several years working in security services for both public and private agencies. Upon retirement, Jesse’s passion for working on automobiles continued and he spent many afternoons working on cars with his children and grandchildren. If you asked Jesse, his greatest life accomplishment was being a husband, father, and grandpa. Everyone will greatly miss him for his silly sense of humor, deep love for his family and friends, and fighting spirit. Jesse is survived by his wife and love of his life of 51 years, Olivia Gomez Navarro; children, Leticia Navarro, Gloria Navarro, Alice Navarro, and Jesse Navarro III; grandchildren, Marc Martinez, Corina Ochoa, Jeremiah Ochoa, Jacob Martinez, Breanna Ochoa, Jailey Navarro, and Brandon Zapata; great-grandchildren, Ivory Butrico and Zachary Camp; sisters, Mary Ann Aguilar and Dolores M. Martinez; and brothers, Daniel Ybarra, Louis Ybarra, and Domingo Gomez. Jesse is preceded in death by his beloved dog, Java. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Sundance Inn Health Center and Elara Caring Hospice (especially Katherine, Jon, and Brandy) for the excellent care provided to both Jesse and his family during these last couple of weeks. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00-9:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in New Braunfels. A reception will follow afterward at the family residence in New Braunfels.
