Patrick O. Higgins was born into the loving family of C.L. “Ox” and Ezma Higgins on October 29, 1941 in Austin, Texas. He graduated from Austin High School in 1960 and went on to earn a degree in Business at the University of Texas in 1964. Pat met his future wife, Janis, in college and they married in 1965. They moved to Germany to start their life together while Pat was in the Army, serving as a First Lieutenant in Augsberg, Germany near Munich. Later on, he served in the Army Reserves as a Captain. Pat and Janis eventually moved back to Austin, and Pat worked as a Life and Health Insurance Salesman for many years. Pat is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, William Michael “Hig” Higgins of Lubbock. and sister, Erin Bell Watson of Johnson City. Pat is survived by his wife, Janis; his sister, Alane Reid and her husband, Jack of Austin; his daughter, Dollie Driver and her husband, Jay of Lubbock; his daughter, Nancy Higgins and her partner, Christian Moore of Austin; grandchildren, Joy and Michael Driver; brother and sister-in-law, John and Norma Taylor of Tyler; sister-in-law, Darlene Taylor of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Alice Higgins of Lubbock; and brother-in-law, John Watson of Johnson City; and 12 very loved nieces and nephews.   1. Pat was always a friendly compassionate friend. Many years ago, while I was going through some hard times, he sold me an insurance policy that would accommodate my needs. He never tried to sell me more than I could afford. I’ve always appreciated the concern, interest, care and understanding he had for others. God bless his family. RIP Pat.
