Peter Karpaty went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2022. He lived a life serving the Lord and his family. Peter was born in Janoshalma, Hungary on May 8, 1956. Peter had an unusually difficult and painful childhood. He was abandoned by his mother at the age of 3 and his father was preoccupied with his career as an attorney. His father fought for freedom in the 1956 revolution in Budapest. As a young boy he started seeking and searching for the meaning of life. He studied philosophy, yoga, Darwinism, and atheism. He grew up as a Catholic and saw the devastation in his family and that religion did not provide any answers. Peter was seeking truth and at the age of 19 he finally found it. Following the death of his father he felt so alone and afraid. While sitting in his bedroom alone he heard a voice say, “Do not be afraid”. Jesus spoke to him, and he felt a warm embrace. He had such an incredible encounter with God that his entire life changed overnight. His life’s mission became to serve God in all aspects of his life. Peter was involved heavily in ministry, and he started facing persecution due to communism in Hungary. The Lord called him and his family to leave the country and move to America. The family filled their suitcases and belongings in their vehicle and headed west. They stayed in Holland where they awaited their visas for religious asylum which took 6 months. Then they traveled to California. He preached the gospel in 12 different countries including some that were hostile towards Christianity. He organized many concerts and youth events. He was involved with leading conferences for pastors in several European countries. He wrote over a hundred Christian songs and preached the gospel through radio and TV. He has written several books including his testimony which are in the process of being published. Peter loved the Lord so much that he sought to serve and honor him in any way that he could. His motivation was to share the Love of God that he experienced. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Pinter and his father Dr. Paul Nandor Csorba. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Karpaty, and his children; Ben Karpaty and his wife, Eszter Karpaty and their children, Havalyn and Hanna, his daughter, Anna Raby and her husband, Matt Raby and their children, Jack, Levi and Noah, his son, Sam Karpaty and daughter, Kristy Karpaty and her husband, Chris Stuckey.
