Petra Moncada, 74, of San Antonio, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014. Born on June 1, 1940 in New Braunfels, she was the daughter of the late Eusebio Cantu, Sr., and Pauline Barboza Cantu. Petra is survived by her children, Rafael F. Moncada, Dora A. Campos and her husband, Cicifredo, and Polly Moncada; grandchildren, Andrea Campos, Carissa Burgett and her husband John, Leah Campos, Joseph Moncada, Audryanna Moncada, Matthew Machuca, and Alina Machuca; great-grandson, John Michael Burgett, Jr.; siblings, Apolonio Cantu and his wife Nancy, Maria Campos, Viviano Cantu, and Lola Ayala and her husband Tony. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will continue from 9:00am to 10:00am on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church, followed by the Mass, which begins at 10:00am. All services will end at the conclusion of the Funeral Mass. Please note: there will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church on Thursday morning. We ask all wishing to attend services on Thursday meet at the church.

Special memories we will cherish and hold dear to our hearts never forgetting the special moments and trademark laugh that was so contagious!   3. I remember when Pat she would come over to Chevela’s & Chamine’s house & before she would knock on the back door. She would always yell out Chevela’s name a couple of times CHEVELA CHEVELA so loud everyone in & out of the house knows when Pat was there at the back door. Up to this day I always yell really loud my mother-n-laws name also CHEVELA CHEVELA!!! Loved that lady!! I will personally miss her but I know she’s in a better place now. Pat please say hello to my momma & daddy & I miss them too. Rest in piece my friend!!!
