Allen Dulaney, 76, of New Braunfels, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2022, in his home. He was born on May 30, 1946, in Uvalde, Texas to Almarine and Betty Dulaney. Allen grew up the oldest of five children in various towns throughout south and central Texas, but mostly in Leakey, Texas. Shortly after graduation from high school, he enlisted in the Marines and began a life of selfless service to his country. He served honorably in the Marines, Air Force, and finally the Army for a cumulative of 20 years of honorable service. His last duty assignment with the Army included a combat tour with the 4th Infantry Division during the first Gulf War. Allen retired from the Army in 1991 as a Staff Sergeant stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, whereupon he became a military spouse supporting his wife’s military career. In 2020, and after 30 years of combined federal service, Allen retired from the United States Census Bureau in Maryland and moved back home to central Texas. Allen is survived by his loving wife, Sergeant (Army Retired) Dorothy Dulaney of Henderson, TX; daughters, Charlotte Long of Valley Lee, Maryland, and Tamara Dulaney of Helton, Oklahoma; son, Lieutenant Colonel (Army Retired) David Dulaney and his wife Mindy of Flower Mound, TX.; and eight grandchildren. The family has requested donations in honor of Allen Dulaney to the Disabled Veterans of America. If you are inclined to support this noble organization, please consider visiting DAV (Disabled American Veterans). A memorial for Allen will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM, in the New Braunfels Bible Church.

  1. Allen will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him. He was very close to his brother Stan who is also my brother-in-law. We all enjoyed the knowledge of History that Allen so enjoyed discussing. He loved pie!
My thoughts and prayers are with Dorothy and the family. God bless you all! Lynda , Marrell, Jonathan
