Dorothy was born November 10 1937 in Groom Texas to Ellis Grayden Stapp and wife Ellen Mae. Dorothy was an avid sports fan enjoying Professional basketball, football, and tennis. She rooted for the Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, and Dallas Cowboys. Despite her husband and granddaughter attending Texas Tech she was a life long Texas Longhorn fan. She enjoyed soap operas and classic country music. One of her favorite things was traveling with her husband and siblings to Branson Missouri.  But her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and Grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Ricky Babitzke, sister Kathryn Reed, and Brother Ellis Stapp.

She is survived by her husband, Duane of Canyon Lake, Texas, daughter Lynette Smith and husband Mike of Leander Texas, Two granddaughters Courtney Strause and husband Adam of New Braunfels Texas and Amanda Hollingsworth and husband Mitchell of Firestone Colorado.
