Elida H. Pena
June 23, 1935 ~ May 21, 2015
Elida H. Pena, went to be with our Lord on May 21, 2015. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Born June 23, 1935 to Enrique and Rosalia Hernandez in Yoakum, TX. She married the love of her life, Reynaldo G. Pena on September 20, 1955. They went on to have four children: daughters, Dorelia and husband Gilbert Bustos and Osvelia and husband Tony Sovia; son, Orlando Pena and wife Rosa; and a daughter, Argelia and husband Richard Castillo. The joys of her life were her grandchildren: Jacob and Gabriella Guerrero, Jason Guerrero and Jerrica Flores, Christina, Melanie and Orlando Rey Pena, also Rochelle, Deryn, Faith, Richard and Elijah Castillo. She was blessed with 16 great-grandchildren that she adored. In addition, she was also survived by a brother, Hector Hernandez and three sisters: Elodia Alvarado, Oralia Lagunas and Rosa Villarreal. She also has numerous nieces and nephews that loved their tia. A time to visit with the family is scheduled for 9:00am on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Holy Rosary will follow at 9:30am and lead into the Funeral Mass, which is scheduled to begin at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Comal Cemetery.

I will miss Mrs. Pena so much! She was so special to me. I looked forward to talking to her and Mr. Pena. I now look forward to seeing her in heaven. I wish I could have said goodbye and kissed her cheek One last time.

Orlando, I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. Our mothers are dear to us and the loss is impossible to replace. Pena Family, I am sorry to hear of the loss of Elida. I remember the many years I knew Rey and Elida at Texas Commerce Bank. The bank had a family too and we shared that with many of our customers.
