Jason Lee McCarty, a resident of New Braunfels, joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by friends and family on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 46. Jason was born on February 21, 1977 in San Marcos, TX to Jimmy McCarty and Kay Whited McCarty.
Jason attended Southwest Texas University after High School where he received a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration. Shortly after college he met the love of his life, Kacey Major, and on July 24th, 2004 they married on a warm evening in San Marcos and started building their life together and raising their two sons Major and Harper.
Following graduation he started his career in Sales at Tex-Door in San Antonio where he became an integral part in the rapid growth and expansion of the company. He dedicated 23 years there and considered his coworkers and bosses part of his extended family.
Jason loved the outdoors and time along the Texas coast where he lived for teaching his boys to appreciate time in nature. In recent years the boys and Jason became active in competitive fishing tournaments which strengthened their bond and created lots of great memories. He was also intentional in never missing the boy’s basketball or football games where he loved watching them compete.
He was the life of any party and created community wherever he went, making a lasting impression on others which was never more evident than over the past year as friends and family surround him and Kacey daily during his courageous battle with Scleroderma. He leaves behind a legacy of being loyal to family and friends, dependable and trustworthy and will be greatly missed by those he lived his abundant life with.
