Margaretha Joffray

Margaretha Joffray, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Alzcare at the age of 84. Margaretha was born on October 7, 1927 in Forthausen, Rhein-Wupperkreis, Germany to Matthias Persy and Magdalena Breidenbach Persy. She later married Eugene A. Joffray, who preceded her in death in August of 1991. Margaretha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Gertrud; brother, Johann; daughter-in-law, Karen Magsam, and by a grandson, Dustin. Survivors include her children, Traudi Cox and husband, Welton E., Margit Arrington and husband, Ken, Jeane Oldham and Greg Henderson, Alan Joffray and wife, Julie and Jon Joffray; grandchildren, JoAnna, Holly, Angel, Patricia, Monica, Stephanie, Clayton, Ashley, Zoey, Stephanie, Lindsey, Courtney and Josh; great-grandchildren, Malori, Dylan, Jillian, Steven, Ariza, Penelope, Colton, Kendall and Alek. In addition, Margaretha is also survived by her best friend, Genevieve Nemec and husband, Johnny. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Lux Funeral Home chapel, with funeral services following at 5:00 PM with Reverend Joseph C. Wold officiating. Interment will be held at 9:45 AM on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Memorial donations may be given to Alzcare of New Braunfels or to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels.

My condolences go to Margarethas family. The little time I spent with her at Alzcare was like I knew her for a long time. She was a sweet strong lady and reminded me very much of my own mother. I’m glad I got to know her.I will miss her dearly. I’m sure she will be missed by everyone at Alzcare.
