Marilyn Elizabeth Hooker, 93 passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024 in New Braunfels, Texas. Marilyn was born June 22, 1931 in El Dorado, Kansas to William Stuart Jack and Gladys Irene Easterling Jack. Marilyn grew up in Dewey, Oklahoma where she met and married the love of her life, John H. Hooker, M.D.

Marilyn and John were blessed with six children. Sons Syd (Deborah), Larry (Judy), Tim (Martha) and Joel (Pamela) and daughters Marian (Bill) and Lorri (David) as well as twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren (with number thirty-six due in October) and five great great grandchildren.

Marilyn was affectionately known to all as Mimi. She spent her lifetime dedicated to her family and being present for events and graduations. She took great delight in watching her “kids” participate in all of their extracurricular activities. She was also known for her delicious homecooked meals and decadent desserts. Everyone’s favorite was her popcorn balls on Halloween.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John, her daughter-in-law Renee Hooker and grandson Jerry Van Noy.

There will be a visitation at Lux Funeral Home, located at 1254 Business 35 N, New Braunfels, TX on Wednesday, September 25 from 5:00-8:00 pm with her Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm. Her funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 26 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, located at 138 W Austin St, New Braunfels, TX followed by burial at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, nearby on Common St in New Braunfels, TX. Reception will follow burial at OLPH’s Reception Hall.
