Mary Rachel Villanueva, age 67, was called to be with the Lord on May 28, 2026. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted mother, Gramma Mom, sister, tia, and friend whose kindness, strength, and compassion touched everyone who knew her.
Mary was born on June 30, 1958, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Jose and Estella Juarez. She lived the majority of her life in New Braunfels and the remainder of her life in San Antonio.
Mary was a loving, family-oriented woman whose greatest joy was her family. She believed deeply in the importance of love and never missed an opportunity to remind those closest to her to always say ‘I love you.’ To Mary, those three words were more than a phrase—they were a way of life. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and taught them to never take one another for granted. She found peace and happiness in loving and nurturing her plants and being surrounded by their beauty. Music filled her heart and brought joy to her days, often serving as the soundtrack to cherished memories. She loved cozy evenings watching Hallmark Christmas movies, embracing the warmth, hope, and happiness they brought. And when football season arrived, she could always be found cheering on her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Nothing made Mary prouder than her grandchildren. She treasured every opportunity to watch her grandsons play sports, cheering them on from the sidelines with pride and excitement. She also found great joy in watching her granddaughters grow from little girls into strong, beautiful young women. She celebrated their milestones, encouraged their dreams, and loved witnessing the remarkable people they were becoming.
Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught, the love she shared, and the reminder she left with all of us: always say “I love you.”
Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in every flower that blooms, every song that plays, every Christmas movie enjoyed, every Cowboys game watched, and every heartfelt ‘I love you’ shared among those who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her children, Andrie Anna Fuentes (Dan Benavides), Krista Lynn Villanueva (Dominique Wells Sr), and ; grandchildren; Madison Fuentes (Caleb Villa), Sheridan Fuentes (Dylan Kirkwood), Dominique Wells Jr, and D’Andre Wells; and sister, Beatrice Rodriguez (Ismael Rodriguez), numerous nieces and nephews, and the father of her children, Rudy Villanueva.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dana Gomez and brothers Jose Juárez Jr #1 & Jose Juárez Jr #2.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Westover Hills Baptist Hospital for the exceptional care, compassion, and support shown to Mary during her stay.
